  • I have been looking for an honest mechanic ever since my 2013 Toyota 4 Runner went off it's factory warranty and service period. Having taken the car for brakes and oil changes to another shop and back to the dealer, I haven't felt like I've been treated fairly or honestly. I found Essex County by accident on YELP and was impressed by the reviews and thought I would give them a try. The shop did an oil change and recommended the rear brakes to be done ( which I knew). I also asked them to check my battery, and was pleasantly surprised with them suggesting that I could wait, although I've had to jump it once after a cold day (I travel a great deal and the car parks at Logan quite a bit, and the last thing I need is to come back from a trip and the car won't start). Technically they were right, and I appreciated the honesty very much but had them replace the battery anyway. The price of the brake job and battery was very fair and reasonable. I will be bringing my wife and son's car in for service when it's needed. An honest, good, AND fair mechanic is hard to find these days. I am really glad I found them!
